Common entrance examinations
£60 per 1 hour
An intensive session where students spend the time working and actively improving their knowledge and skills, through varied and thoroughly planned activities. Topics required are discussed with parents in advance of the session to allow for adequate preparation. There is flexibility during the session to answer questions or explore areas or skills that arise. Sessions include focus on key terminology and specific language, exam technique (including multiple choice questions and knowledge retention.
I use the ISEB syllabus and draw relevant exam papers from a range of school websites as resources. Although it is beneficial if parents have sourced the ISEB past papers and answer schemes and relevant texts for the child.
Lucy helped my son prepare for Common Entrance scholarship and my son has responded brilliantly to her lessons. “Lucy isn’t like other teachers (says my son). She makes science really fun and interesting!”. From a parent’s perspective, I like the thought that Lucy puts into each session and the care she takes to listen to me as the parent in terms of overall goals for my son. I also value how kind and encouraging she is towards him and the way she adds a huge diversity of resources into each session. I feel like he is in great hands!
